All members and guests of the Oliver Pickleball Club agree to conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner when playing and when observing games. Our common goal is to provide an environment where all players can learn to play pickleball to the best of their ability, while at the same time having fun.
Unacceptable behaviour such as using profane language, arguing, threatening, giving unsolicited advice, or other unsportsmanlike conduct according to the Code of Conduct and Rules and Regulations, will not be tolerated on the courts at any time. Members who have a complaint about the behaviour of another member should bring it to the attention of a Board member rather than attempt to handle it themselves.
Upon the first offence the offender will receive a written reprimand. Upon the second offence, the individual involved will be suspended from Club play for two weeks. A third offence will result in the individual relinquishing their membership to the Oliver Pickleball Club. There will be no refund of membership fees.
● Always exhibit good sportsmanship when playing or observing others by: Accepting decisions made by the opposing team without arguing. Not over-celebrating points won or using derogatory comments when the opposition misses a shot or loses a point. Not taking advantage of an opposing team whose skill level is lower by running up the score. If someone asks for your help, be positive and supportive, especially to those new to the sport.
● Never act in an intimidating manner or use foul or abusive language or gestures to others on or near the courts, or use any other form of communication, such as email or phone calls. Treat others with respect and do not criticize anyone.
● Members are responsible for the actions of their guests and family members, and must be present when their guests are playing.
● Be respectful to opposing players and those on adjacent courts. Avoid unnecessary interruptions.
