WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?
Pickleball is a totally addictive, non-contact paddle sport that can be played by almost all ages and athletic skill levels.
Think of it as a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong played with a solid, hand-held paddle that is used to make contact with a tennis-sized perforated, plastic ball.
Did you know that you can put four pickleball courts into one tennis court, and like tennis you can play with two or four players divided by a net that is 34” high in the middle?
In addition to being an awesome way to socialize and exercise, the sport is growing in leaps and bounds in North America.
It’s estimated that today there are more than 4.2 million pickleball players in the USA while the most recent stats in Canada (2019) estimated that there were more than 60,000 pickleballers.
The Oliver Pickleball Club is well positioned to accommodate future growth for both new and existing members with four outdoor courts and more being built in 2022.
Even during a global pandemic, our club maximized its assets by accommodating regular and round-robin play by singles and couples from the same household.
Today, we have carefully eased our way back into normal play, and have fully returned to providing features such as clinics for beginners, round-robin tournaments, skills training and other items that will make members smile, laugh and engage with new friends and neighbours!

We ask you to self-rate when you sign up for our club. This helps us to match players on a similar skill level. You can change your self-rating at any point. Self-ratings range from 1.0 - 3.9. We require a tournament rating or club evaluation to play on the 4.0+ level. Please contact us if you are 4.0+ player.
Here are two handy guides to help you with self-rating:
We will be offering certified rating testing soon with IPTPA. You can review the criteria for each IPTPA level here.
And don't forget, you can change your rating in the app under "My Profile" at any time.
